USMA Leaders recognize hero at Proclamation Ceremony

Staff Sgt. Dave Bellavia, Medal of Honor recipient, was honored during a Proclamation Ceremony in front of New York City Town Hall July 2. Lt. Gen. Darryl A. Williams, Superintendent of the U.S. Military Academy, introduced Bellavia and spoke about his accomplishments during the ceremony. Command Sgt. Maj. Jack Love, USMA command sergeant major, also represented the academy at the event. Bellavia was recognized last month with the Medal of Honor for his actions on Nov. 10, 2004, as a squad leader in support of Operation Phantom Fury in Fallujah, Iraq.
