  • West Point launches iWATCH Program

    On Sunday, West Point launches an antiterrorism program that enlists the help of Army community members to be “extensions of our overall protection.”

    The iWATCH ARMY program, a civilian initiative adopted by the antiterrorism branch of the Army’s Office of the Provost Marshal General, is a neighborhood terror-watch program designed to heighten public awareness about indicators of terrorist activity and encourage reporting of suspicious behaviors or activities.

  • West Point welcomes new Supe

    Despite the morning’s rainfall, Lt. Gen. David H. Huntoon Jr. described it as a beautiful day Monday as he became the 58th Superintendent at West Point.

    “For so many, this historic place has marked the start of our journey and service to the U.S. Army and to the nation,” Huntoon said. “To return here four decades after my own swearing in ceremony as a new cadet is deeply moving and profoundly inspiring.     The morning sun glimmers into his Hudson River office view as he feverishly attempts to put out the numerous fires awaiting him. However, this is no different from any other morning for a Soldier in his position. For this is a step in his career that he relishes––a whole new set of goals and challenges to face.

  • NSPS days are numbered at West Point

    On July 7, West Point’s Deputy Garrison Commander Wilfred J. Plumley hosted approximately 75 percent of the more than 130 West Point garrison National Security Personnel System employees at a Town Hall meeting in Thayer 144 to discuss their transition from NSPS back to the General Schedule system and review the GS classification rules and criteria for the affected positions.
