    • Combat Weapons Team heads to All-Army Championship

      The Combat Weapons Team is set to defend its title at the All-Army Small Arms Championship, hosted by the Army Marksmanship Unit, at Ft. Benning, Ga., this weekend. Last year, the team beat the defending champions from the Small Arms Readiness Group.

    • Free rope skipping clinic Saturday

      Prior to performing at the Army-Navy basketball doubleheader, the national champion Bouncing Bulldogs International Rope Skipping Team will host its second free clinic at West Point. The clinic is open to children ages 18 and under and will run from 9-10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

      Army snapped its season-long three-game losing streak with a 63- 49 victory over Colgate in Patriot League men’s basketball action Sunday at Christl Arena. The Black Knights improved to 13-9 overall and 3-5 in conference play, while the Raiders dropped to 6-16 overall and 2-6 in league action.

      Firstie forward Eric Sefchik posted his fourth straight multiplepoint game and Cow goaltender Jay Clark made 35 saves as Army hockey posted a 4-1 victory over Holy Cross Feb. 6 in an Atlantic Hockey Association contest at the Hart Center in Worchester, Mass.

      Sefchik netted two goals, Cow forward Cody Omilusik had a goal and assist and Yearling forward Kyle Maggard also registered a score as the Black Knights earned a split with the Crusaders.

    • Women’s tennis evens record, takes 5-2 win versus Seton Hall

      The Army women’s tennis team swept all three doubles matches and proceeded to win four of six singles flights as the Black Knights broke even on the season (2-2) with a 5-2 victory over visiting Seton Hall Sunday at Lichtenberg Tennis Center.

      Cows Anne Houghton, Michael Tollerton and Annie Hang, along with Plebe Erin Colton, were all double winners in a Black Knight victory that avenged a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to the Pirates a year ago.

      In conjunction with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, the Army women’s basketball team will host its annual WBCA Pink Zone® game in an aggressive effort to raise breast cancer awareness Saturday. Army welcomes league-leader Lehigh for a 1 p.m. tip-off at Christl Arena.

      • Inline Hockey: The West Point Inline Hockey team continued its march toward the Collegiate Roller Hockey National Championship with another undefeated weekend, Jan. 29-30, at Mount Pleasant, Pa.

      The team opened the weekend with a 4-0 win over Hofstra University as Plebe goalie Bradford Witt recorded his first collegiate shutout and Yearling Matthew Riopelle scored the game winner. Team captain and Firstie Michael Migliaro netted two goals in West Point’s third consecutive win.
